The DalesBus website is designed to help you get around the Yorkshire Dales area (including the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) using public transport. There are many bus services within the Yorkshire Dales which run throughout the year, these are supplemented by extra services during the Summer period, which mainly operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays from Easter until mid-October.
Horton-in-Ribblesdale is the first stop north on the famous Settle to Carlise Railway. With trains travelling direct from Leeds and west coast from Lancaster change at Long Preston.
Horton station is the ‘small’ type of station building. Fortunes for the station have been varied- in the 1950s and 60s under stationmaster Taylor, Horton won the Best Kept Station award for seventeen consecutive years, then lost its passenger service in 1970, only to reopen in July 1986.
